After studying economics and econometrics at the University of Amsterdam, Herman Huizinga has gained ample experience on data-driven marketing. It all started at Postbank (nowadays known as ING), the leading retail bank in the Netherlands, where he was Senior VP for Distribution & Multimedia and Senior VP for Database Marketing.
Afterwards he went to Spain where he was responsible for Marketing and the introduction of CRM at ING Nationale-Nederlanden, traditionally an insurance company with a sales force of tied agents. Later on Herman joined ING Direct to work on the creation of a stand-alone European credit card unit as Senior VP for Business Intelligence. Just before the credit crunch he made his way back home. Not only to lead Marketing Consumer Finance in the Netherlands, but above all to contribute to the successful merger and integration of two domestic bank units of ING into one.
As a senior consultant BI Herman Huizinga is taking the 'Big Data' heat in different settings since 2014.
